Dr Pär Strand

Dr Pär Strand completed his PhD in Electromagnetic Field Theory
in 1999 at the Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg Sweden. After a PostDoc at Oak Ridge National Laboratory he returned to Sweden, first as a Researcher at the IMEGO
institute where he was involved in MEMS modeling, and after that he returned to CHALMERS where he continued working on modeling of Fusion Plasmas. Currently he is an Associate
Professor at Chalmers and serves as the Leader of the Integrated Tokamak Modeling Task Force under EFDA and is the Coordinator of the EUFORIA - EU Fusion for ITER Applications
project, which is funded under the EU FP7 Capacities program. Dr. Strand is also the ITM-TF representative on the newly formed HPC-FF Board (a 100Tflops SC for fusion) and Chairs
the ITER Integrated Modeling Expert Group.
