Viviane RedingViviane Reding has a doctorate in human sciences (Sorbonne, Paris), she was a journalist with the Luxembourg's main daily newspaper, ?Luxemburger Wort.?. She entered politics early and has been a parliamentarian at national and European level as well as European Commissioner.

She has been EU telecom and media Commissioner since 2004, and is pursuing the completion of Europe's Internal Market for ICT and media economy. She has modernised the rules on audiovisual content, regulated against excessive international roaming charges and increased the R&D budget for ICT. She has also proposed reforms to streamline EU telecoms law to encourage competition, innovation and investment. Currently, she is working on policy options regarding availability of creative content online, next generation broadband and the digital dividend.
